Congratulations to Dre Towey!
SUGAR ON TOP has been selected as a 2009 Parents' Choice Silver Award winner!
Dre Towey recorded her first solo CD for children, Chester the Dog to much deserved acclaim.
Her newest, Sugar on Top, continues her skillful wordplay, strong instrumentation and hip delivery. Adults will be reminded of singer/songwriters such as Jonatha Brooks, Suzanne Vega and particularly Michelle Shocked (to whom Towey owes much of her vocal style), but kids will simply love her unbridled spunkiness..... Towey writes intelligent, fun and slyly educational songs that kids will love, and which parents will easily welcome into their car and their home.

Kate Feiffer: My Mom Is Trying to Ruin My Life
Funny, funny, funny! This mother seems perfect to everyone - she bakes, she's thoughtful, she smells nice - but to her daughter she's too helpful, too involved...she's trying to ruin her life. Kate Feiffer does a great job of conveying the friction (and love!) between children and parents in this imaginative book. |

Janette Rallison: Just One Wish
This book doesn't sound like it should be funny (the 6 year-old brother has cancer) but Annika Truman's plucky personality will have you laughing out loud. She wants her little brother's biggest wish to come true: getting an archery lesson from Teen Robin Hood, and she goes to hilarious lengths to meet the hunky TV show actor and convince him to visit her house...all in less than 3 days! |
